What happens if i lied to the clinic i went to about my health insurance?

Question: What happens if i lied to the clinic i went to about my health insurance?

(Posted by: king on 2010-07-29 14:19:50)

I went to a planned parenthood to get birth control, but didn't want to tell my parents I was on it. They would have never approved although I am old enough to consent to sex. I didn't want it to show up on my insurance so I told them I had none but gave them my social security number, What can happen if they find out that I lied to them about my Health Insurance?

Your parents won't find out. There is nothing they will do with your social. There is no way of them knowing which insurance company you have. And they know not to file with your insurance even if they could get this information. They've been doing this for many, many years. They probably knew you wanted to keep this a secret from your parents. /

If Planned Parenthood finds out about your insurance they will bill them and your parents will know. You have to be 18 years old to consent to sex.

~~Patient privacy laws would never allow this information to be given out. You have nothing at all to worry about. There's positively, absolutely no way they could ever track insurance information with anything you gave them. So take care of yourself and do not worry about this for one more second. I am glad, if you are making a choice to have sex, you are doing it without the risk of a pregnancy you aren't ready for. Just be careful, birth control pills do not protect you from STD's.~~

They're not going to find out, as long as you pay the bill in full.
