Is it by the state?

Healthquotes.awardspace.info - my family have this health insurance. It is affordable and has good coverage for dental issues.

Yes, insurance companies are even more heavily regulated by banks - by the state insurance commissioner. Every health insurance company rate increase must be approved by the state insurance commissioner, who asks for JUSTIFICATION for the rate increase - in the form of claims data. Obama's claim that insurance companies arbitrarily raise their rates and drop people who get sick, is flat out wrong. There's nothing arbitrary; government ALREADY regulates the price of health insurance policies; and it's illegal for insurance companies to drop people because of claims that they file.

All states have an insurance department, headed by an Insurance Commissioner. They regulate the activities of all dealings by all insurance companies within their state. That includes operations of the insurance companies, and conduct of the agents, as well as all rates and rate increases. Fort example, here is the web site of the Pennsylvania insurance department./

There are many policies that are not covered by the ins com. if the policy is a self funded plan..they wont cover it. if the policy is licenses in ohio, indiana has no control and ohio probably wont help since you don't live under their rules.
