What criteria do banks use to refuse personal loans?
I'm trying to get a loan of about 6,000, my credit rating is maxed out at 999 so I am in the excellent category.Yet when I visit my bank, they say I failed on my bank scoring my bank is Barclay's but they won't tell me what type of things effect it and are quite vague on the subject incase I might manipulate it. They say challenging it based on my credit report won't do any good either. Can someone provide any information for me on what type of things might improve the bank score so I can get this loan?PS No common sense answers like they base it on a perception of your ability to pay it back. That much is obvious, I refer to things like if you miss direct debits, if you usually have 0 balance for most of the month or things like that. The bank seem to think the bank score is seperate from my credit score, just to clarify. So far you are all answering in relation to credit report, mine is 999 as mentioned. The highest available score. The problem is the bank scoring

I am looking for a bad credit personal loan for a wedding?
Ok, my credit isn't all that good, around 450 550. I am looking for a personal loan to pay off some wedding expenses. I do not want a payday loan. I understand my credit is high risk and I just need some help finding one, not a lecture. I am looking for a lending to approve a loan around $2500. Any suggestions or websites will help.EDIT Thank you everyone for all the answers. I would first like to say that I have been scammed before. I gave someone $800 with a promise of getting a $7500 loan. I never received the loan nore did I see my $800 again. Although I am in need of a loan, I am not about to pay someone money to give me money. Also, I should have been more clearer, the wedding has arleady passed. It wasn't an extravegant wedding, it was mostly family and a few close friends. If anyone knows of a bank or financial institution that can grant loans not a payday loan it would be a great help. I am currently working on getting my credit established. The one thing that is bringing it down is I have no credit card under my name.

Will I qualify for a personal loan with a credit score of 685, cosigner and a part time job?
I am applying for a personal loan and asking for $4000, this is to pay off a $700 balance I have on a credit card that only has a few more months of 0 % interest left. And also to fund a vacation. I was denied a private student loan for $13,500 from Citi and Chase banks. I got freaked out because I thought my credit score was awful, I checked it and its 685 which is a good score. I'm applying for the loan at my personal bank with my mother as a cosigner who has been banking at the same bank for years as well. Will I qualify or should I be worried?I also should note that I live at home, work part time, and besides the credit card from best buy the only other bill I have is my cell phone bill. I've also been at my job for over 2 years now as well.I am applying for a $4000 loan to pay off a credit card my mom took out for me to get a computer for school, for books for school, to pay off a 418$ medical charge, and 105.58 bill for interest charge on one student loan. My loans aren't due to be paid yet as I haven't graduated yet but I want to start paying these off now so when I do graduate I have one less bill to pay. Also, I'm using the rest of the loan to go towards a vacation I have money saved up already for it. My mom is cosigning with me she has two other obligations an Ashley furniture credit card and a student loan for my brother and there is 183$ balance on that. She works full time, my dad is retired I work part time. Yes a vacation is a luxury, I haven't been on one in about 6 years I work hard and busted my ass in school I deserve it. I'm fine with paying off this debt for the loan.and my moms credit score is 748

One big personal loan or multiple smaller ones?
I am planning to undertake Post Graduate study overseas and as such I don't qualify for a student loan. The course is run in over two years, and you can pay in two instalments every year, one in October and one in January. My question is, if I am going to take out a personal loan to cover the tuition fees, is it better to get this in one lump sum or get four smaller personal loans over the two years? I just figure if I take the lump sum I'll be paying interest from day one, even though I don't actually need all the money right away. My other question is, is it sometimes better to use a low interest credit card for such things? From what I have seen, the interest rates are lower on some credit cards than for personal loans.Much obliged,Poor Student
