What is money laundering? How might money laundering be reduced or prevented? Can you think of any strategies for the reduction of money laundering activities in the United States?
My brother stole my Bose radio and pawned it for weed money, should I call the cops??I think he has a problem?
I would feel really bad if he went to jail, but he has stolen and pawned many valuable items from me, including a 2,000 dollar laptop. What would you do?
Is it hypocritical to use Canadian Health care if you don't have money?
and then vilify their health system as an example of defective socialism when you have money and it's politically expedient? Or is that just " ironic" ?news.yahoo.com s huffpost 20100308 cm huffpost 490080
Taxing royalites, dividends, and interests takes money out of the economy. why do it?
The effect of the 2.9 % tax on dividends, interest, royalties, and rental income to fund medicaid is is estimated to generate $234 billion, and if you add capital gains into the mix that number increases to $334 billion. That is around one third of a trillion dollars that is being taken out of the private sector and being pumped into a drowning entitlement program. " With a less productive economy, there would be fewer job opportunities ... Thus, wages and salaries are estimated to fall by an average of $14 billion per year nominally ... Taxing the investment income of high income individuals is estimated to reduce the economy's potential by an average $10.2 billion per year. That is $102 billion of real accumulated lost opportunities over 10 years." If taxing the filthy rich is going to reduce the economy's potential by 10 billion, should we reconsider ? Higher unemployment will reduce the tax revenue and eventually make the tax increase more expensive. so why raise taxes on these thingshumanevents.com article.php?i

Can you list me any five year peroids of the stock market where the stock market LOST money?
In the future, where will the U.S. obtain money for its upkeep? [Part I]?
This is not a Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative commentary. Rather, it is a given fact that our nation needs tons of money to keep it going. Meaning The U.S. cannot cut on its defense budget or else, our homeland security is greatly imperiled And no matter how much we try to make amends internationally go even further than what Obama does now , there will always be " U.S. haters" no matter what because that comes with the territory of being a super power. I mean, has there ever been a super power in human history where no one hated it? The answer is no & so, drastic cuts in defense spending will never happen.Next, can the U.S. cut spending on its human services such as public works, infrastracture, education, social programs, health care, the environment parks & etc. , international aid & so many other programs I failed to mention? The answer is no because the U.S. is such a COMPASSIONATE & CARING nation that even the staunchiest fiscally conservative, pro Republican folks will not be in favor of abolishing the spending on the aforementioned.Meaning, in so many other countries of the world, there's no such thing as Social Security, health care, & other social programs even if their economies are emerging. Ultimately, the family takes care of its elderlies or unhealthy members, not some social program from the government. As for education, having more than 50 students in a classroom & antiquated facilities is a norm in a lot of countries but not in the U.S.Also in other countries, people get by with decrepit roads & infrastractures, people uses public transport en masse, lands are utilized for basic needs unlike in the U.S. where huge acres of lands are set aside for the sake of environmentalism which in turn needs lots of money for upkeep, & so on & so forthLast but not the least, the U.S. will never cease aiding internationally whenever calamity strikes even if there's a huge number of Americans who says that the U.S. should start taking care of itself first especially now that the economy is in shambles because the U.S. as a whole is just one HUMANITARIAN nation inspite of what other people worldwide thinks. Also, we'll never cease spending on space exploration because it's the next frontier. But the problem is, the U.S. is not as prosperous as it used to be. Back then i.e. after World War II , the U.S. was the only major industrial country that didn't get ruined. Hence, it emerged prosperous as its industries remained intact & productive leading to the golden years of abundant " goods & services" to its people. And that's why a lot of people around the world migrated to the U.S. by hook or by crook because life here is that good, it cannot be found anywhere else on earth Edit 5And so, there may come a time in the not so distant future whereby the only way to pay our debt as well as to sustain this kind of lifestyle well into the next 2 3 centuries is via selling some of our valued real estate to China? because raising taxes high won't solve it whereas stopping this kind of a lifestyle will never happen as caring for our fellow man, whether fellow citizen or not, is deeply ingrained in our culture even if we ourselves are already buried in so much debt. Ultimately, caring for our fellow man regardless of the price is who we are.Edit 1Ooopppsss, what I should have said is " lifestyle" instead of " standard of living." Meaning, there's several countries in the world mostly in Europe where the standard of living is actually higher than the U.S.However, no other country in the world is similar to the " lifestyle" of the U.S. where so much is spent on so many things such as defense, space exploration, social programs, the environment, & etc. And space exploration is a necessary endeavor for mankind. Edit 2In the U.S., we have a program called " S.S.I." whereby the poor & unemployed is eligible to get a monthly allowance of $800 month even if you're a new legal immigrant here who can't find work. Now that's truly COMPASSION & CARING.And though some Americans despise such program arguing that it gives incentive to some people not to work & that new immigrants gets money while those born here don't get free money simply because they work, the truth is there are legit poor people who really needs help & immigrants who needs this kind of help to get them started because sooner or later, they will be productive citizens who will also contribute to society.Edit 3But even illegal immgrants are taken care of here & not neglected as they get free hospitalizations, low cost housing, & other several programs & resources they can tap into. Also, we have tremendous unemploment benefits which enormously helps a lot of people in this time of economical hardship. Whereas in most countries of the world including some 1st world nations, your family or relative takes care of you when you're unemployed or new to the country whether legal or illegal , there's no social programs available to you. Last but not the least, we remain 1 in international aid to the world whether it be mobilizing during an unfortunate calamity or tackling chronic calamity such as combatting AIDS & other diseases being a donor in fighting hunger providing medicines building infrastractures such as roads, schools, hospitals, & etc.Edit 4Overall, the U.S. may not have the highest standard of living, but our LIFESTYLE remains the " beacon of light" for so many people worldwide & that's why America remains the 1 country in the world that people around the globe wants to immigrate to. And though this is a point of contention for some Americans arguing that we cannot keep on with this UNSUSTAINABLE lifestyle, the truth is this is the very essence of the American culture, we are indeed one CARING & HUMANITARIAN people inspite of what other people in the world thinks even if we're already a sinking ship

My job is trying to take out money from my check for my dental/vision insurance all at once!?
I work at a Dr's office and we have Unitedhealthcare ins. they pay for the medical and we are responsible for dental vision, which is supposed to get taken out of our checks every pay period. The problem is since the beginning of this year we changed over to another ins. company and payroll, and the lady that is handling the ins. hasn't sent over the paperwork about our ins. dental vision to the lady that does our pay roll. The manager said that when the money starts getting taken out of our check they will take out from the previous months all at once, so this will be quite a bit of money at one time out of our check. I just want to know if anyone knows if they are allowed to do this it does not seem right to me for us to be punished for someone else's mistake.

In the future, where will the U.S. obtain money for its upkeep? [Part II]?
But now that the rest of the world has caught up, those good ol' days are somewhat gone yet America will never go back to the pre glory days of minimal to no " goods & services," we just can't live the way it was oh way back when. It's ultimately analogous to the popular saying that goes " mankind cannot go back living to how it was prior to the industrialized age." We just can't And even if we drastically cut on spending & increase taxes by the tenfold, both will not be enough to " stop the bleeding." And with the impending passage of Health Care Reforrm, our national debt then will really be enormous yet we ought not to blame the Democrats because it's just a given fact the U.S. standard of living is just such that it cannot be found in any other country of the world yet we can never go back to how it was. Indeed, the U.S. does take very good care of its people as compared to all countries of the world. Hence, we will always need money to take care of our citizens as well as to keep our country going. But where will we get that money in the future? Ultimately, we can only borrow so much from China or from our future generations that sooner or later, something has to give Or in other words, we have to give up something in order to sustain our way of living. It might not be conceivable now I'll surely get curse by the next statements but perhaps in the future, the only way we can get trillions of dollars to pay our humongous debt once our creditors starts demanding us to pay as well as to sustain our budget well into the next couple of centuries is to do the unthinkable sell some of our real estate. What land would that be then?Well, it will of course be determined thru a vote by all Americans. And most likely, it will be a land least inhabited so that its people can be relocated to the other 48 states where there's still huge tracts of open land for people to re settle in. In turn, we get the much needed money say, $500 700 trillion to keep our country going well into the 23rd century Now that's not a bad deal at all given the fact that the land we sold was only bought for $20 million back in the 18th.And even if the people there tries to secede, it will be futile because even if some people in some of the states now want to secede being unhappy with where the U.S. is heading, their wishes is to no avail because the U.S. as a whole won''t allow them to secede claiming that it's tantamount to treason. And of course, majority always win But overall, this could very well be the scenario in the not so distant future because we can never go back to how it was & so, we will always need the infusion of cash to keep on with our defense budget, social programs & other human services, excellent education, public works & infrastracture, upkeeping our environment & providing international aid to countries stricken with natural disasters, continue exploring space, & so many other projects & endeavors of necessity that I failed to mention.
