Suggest a cheap (temporary) floor covering, so we can get a conventional mortgage (not construction)?
We bought a home in need of work and so needed a construction loan. It's not one where we do some work, get some money, do more work, etc. We have the money to do what is needed you just can't get a conventional mortgage unless there is " no construction" .Work is going too slowly to get it " done right" , so we want to cheaply get things to a point where we qualify for a conventional mortgage its hard to get exact answers on what exactly will qualify suggests on where to find out? So ideas for cheap floors, that will easily be removed later. Going to do hardwood eventually but doesnt make sense to do them when there are still walls to be moved, plumbing to be ripped out, etc. Will the self stick square tiles come back up easily? We're trying to get cheap rug but just installed so it will come up easily no nails . Not sure how they could do it ... double sided tape? Glue?Any ideas?
Is it worth borrowing extra on your mortgage for things such as fencing, sheds, driveways etc?
My partner and I are getting a mortgage next year to build a house on our land. We each have one thing we want.Mine is nice, secure fencing for our land to keep my dogs safe My partners is a large colourbond shed for his cars and gym I think it is reasonable to say they would each cost around $10,000 each, if not more. Considering that we both earn a decent amount of money, and if we did add them it wouldn't be stretching our budget, do you think that it is a good idea to add these costs onto our mortgage?

Mortgage cost ? How much will it cost me in addition to the price of a house?
If I want to buy a house that is 400000 on a 30 years mortgage of 5 %, a calculator would tell me that I would pay around $2000 a month for 30 years...that means a total of $720000. I don't understand because that would mean I would pay an extra 320K in addition to the initial price ? I though it would have been a basic 400K x 5 % so 20K Could someone explain me exactly how it works ? ThanksSo for you how much would be my total cost approximately ?thanks ranger Wow I can't believe it. I mean, I think that we could afford to buy something with my wife of something like i said around 400K but I can't believe that if I want to buy now on a 30 year loan I would actually pay it 720k I hate banks o o
