2 big crashes in the last month, but how many landed safely and without incident? Tens, if not hundreds of thousands... |

I wouldn't be flying on an Airbus unless my life depended on it. Because I guess it would. |

Flying is the safest form of transport. you have more chance of dying on the way way to the airport BY ANY MEANS than crash in the plane |

Officials say, the most dangerous part about flying is your drive to and from the airport. Personally, I have flown on hundreds of flights over fifty years usually going fast asleep before takeoff. Here are some statistics:search.yahoo.com/ search?p= airliner+ safety &fr= ush-ans |

Its fairly safe despite the recent crashes. I will still fly and let fate take its course. I think driving is more dangerous! |

I flew on an airbus this weekend, we flew through thunderstorms, had bad turbulence and dropped alot. But we still survived. Around 1.2million people die in car crashes every year. It is the safest way to travel. My friend who is an air hostess has been injured in a car accident this week, and she's only just become stable. It really does prove that you are more likely to have an accident on the way to the airport rather than in the air = D |

It's incredibly safe provided the airline takes proper precautionary steps to ensure the safety of the planes and passengers. the US and EU have strict safety regulations so if you fly within these areas you are very very safe. |

Of course it is. In both 2007 and 2008, there were no fatalities on commercial airline flights. Contrast that with the approximately 40,000 people who die every year, just in the US, from car related accidents. Flying is very safe. |

Despite media sensationalism, air travel is safer than it has ever been. If the media reported every car crash the way they report every plane crash, there wouldn't be enough hours in a day to cover them all. |
