Question: Im planning traveling around the east coast of america during summer & am looking for ideas?
(Posted by: Nic on 2010-03-09 10:27:00)
Im going to be flying into Boston and staying with family for a week there, Planning on traveling to Niagara Falls, from there. From there I have yet to fill in, was thinking of the following : Dutch county (maybe) Philadelphia, Washington, And our last week will be in New York flying out of there, We have 4 weeks in total . Does anybody have any ideas on an itinerary? How long should I spend in each place? Are there any places you suggest I delete from my plans and may be other important places I SHOULD visit also? Any insight would be a great help. What form of transport should I use to get around? Am- Track? Bus (greyhound, Peter pan )? suggestions would be great. Oh and are you allowed cross over to the Canadian side of the Niagara Falls on a America Visa ? Any suggestions Or advice on a itinerary ideas or travel advice in America would be greatly appreciated Thanks a mil . |

If you fancy a party and a bit of gambling, then make your way to Atlantic City, NJ. About an hour from philadelphia by train, and only $14 roundtrip! |

Boston is a great city to start in with tons of history. NYC is a must on a visit to the states with museums, Broadway and great food! Washington D.C is our capital and has a lot of touristy stuff to do like the Smithsonian museums. Philly is also a great city with good food and lots of history. Washington state and Oregon are great states if you're the outdoorsy type, lots of trails, waterfalls and wildlife. I'd try to visit Las Vegas (2 days max), Los Angeles and Sedona, Arizona is really cool too. You know what, every state has something to offer. If you can afford it, train would be the best way to see the country......amtrak.com does it all. |

You have much better choices from boston then going to niagara falls....if it were up to me I would go from boston up to maine (only about 1 1/ 2 hours compared to 7 hours to niagara falls)--from maine you can drive to montreal or quebec city which both places are utterly amazing..then backtrack to maine and head south to nyc...this trip would greatly minimize the driving in between places... other places worth visiting along this route are: burlington, vermont new hampshire cape cod, massachusettes you could still see philedalphia and washinbgton DC if you wanted to since they're less than 2 hours from nyc skip niagara falls --way to out of the way from where you are starting |
